The Salem Montessori School is truly a wondrous place! We offer children ages 14 months to 6 years an environment where they develop a love of learning, keen concentration, a global perspective, respect for self and all of life, care for the natural world, and exploration of faith through stories of the Bible.
We are a private, non-profit corporation housed at Home Moravian Church. Salem Montessori School is an affiliate member of the American Montessori Society. Please contact their web site at www.amshq.org for more information. Our school is supported by tuition and donations and governed by a board of directors.
Salem Montessori School, Inc. admits students of any race, color, national, and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its education and admissions policies.
Parents of prospective students are invited to visit the school. Please call Karen Wilson, school head, at 748-0800 for an appointment today.
In December of 2002 the officers of Home Moravian Church voted unanimously to allow Salem Montessori School to lease space in the Christian Education wing of the church. Although the school is a separate entity and is financially independent of the church, the two share a common vision of providing excellent Christian education for the spiritual development of young children.
Home Moravian Church is currently represented on the school board by two church members.
So that the school community may be good stewards of the space we have leased:
We are a half-day school, open from 9:00 to 12:00, with an optional Lunch Bunch from 12:00 to 1:00. We are open from late August through May.
